Revealing this yesterday, Kalu’s media aide, Prince Kunle Oyewumi, said the fraudsters were sending out SMS to friends and associates in Kalu’s email and phone soliciting for money.
He revealed that Kalu knew about the scam when some friends and associates started calling him over SMS they received.
“We never knew this until some friends and associates of His Excellency started calling him to find out what was going on, having received SMS and emails from them that his phone and email must have been hacked into, as he never sent out any SMS or email. It was then he knew what was going on and told them he did not send out such messages,” he stated.
Oyewumi asked those who received any SMS or email purportedly from Kalu soliciting money to discountenance it, saying it did not emanate form the former governor.
He expressed surprise that people would be so brazen to engage in such criminality as hacking into the phones and emails of others and trying to dupe others.
