The March edition of the #EDCAbuja which held at Hawthorn Suites hotel was perhaps the best #EDCAbuja yet.
The event started quite early with participants coming in very early in order t secure a seat.
By 4.15pm, Ezekiel Solesi the conference host came up to talk briefly about LIMBsimple and what the #EDCAbuja mission to build the next generation of businesses. He ended his short introduction by running through the programme of events for the evening particularly explaining the #crashMBA session which involved the participants being shared into groups to analyse, brainstorm and come up with real life strategic solutions to real life challenges faced by a nigerian business startup. He said was in life with the #EDCAbuja’s mission to ensure businesses were based on sound strategy.
After running through the programme of events he invited the first speaker Mr Taiwo Adepoju to take over.
Mr Taiwo’s session was “electric”. Speaking on the topic “TAKING GIANT STEPS” he, in his usual way of engaging the audience challenged participants to do take GIANT STEPS in the right direction. He emphasized that taking steps without strategy could be like the famous Hafid story in the book “Acres of Diamonds”. After Mr Taiwo’s session was the much awaited #crashMBA session. In the session, participants were shared into 5 groups and the case study in question was on Smids animation studios limited, a 3D animation company here in Nigeria. There were powerful group discussions as well eye opening presentations of strategies developed for Smids animation studios limited. Strategies developed would be made into a strategy report and given to Smids animation studios limited and shared with all participants of the event.
Then came the session for the Senior Special Assistant to the President on youth and student affairs who was unavoidably absent due to an urgent call from the president but we were still treated to great speeches from two principal officers from his office.
During the event there were also guest interviews of the host and speakers by MyTvAfrica who we there to cover the event. There was also a presentation by the TEDxkids@asorock team who spoke to participants about the coming TEDx event coming to Nigeria in May.
People could hardly recover from the experience such that over an hour after the event was over, 80% of participants were still in the hall networking and talking about, the things they’ve learnt and how great the event was.
This is by every standard the best #EDCAbuja event held yet.
We want to thank everyone who’s made the #EDCAbuja an great event. Particularly Hawthorn Suites Hotel, Our guest speakers, Clean Digital, My Tv Africa and all our distinguished participants.
