After Twitter’s founder revealed its soon to be Instagram killer, rumors have been buzzing around the social media world. Today it looks like Twitter may roll out the red carpet and launch its secret weapon soon. The battle with Intsagram (now owned by Facebook) has been ongoing and for some time but Twitter wants to provide users with their own photo filtering tool by the end of this year.
A series of black and white photos rumored to be from the new app were posted by Twitter’s co-founder Jack Dorsey earlier this week.
All Things D reported :
Twitter is making a big push to release a series of photo filters to be used inside the official Twitter app before the end of the year, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The goal is to release the camera filters in an application update in time for the holiday season, these sources say. The new version of the app is currently in testing, which may be why we’re seeing Twitter chairman Jack Dorsey post so many black-and-white filtered photos of his Square employees (not to mention the wing of his plane at takeoff , posted just this Saturday morning).
Today December 9, 2012 it looks like Instagram has removed all of its connections with Twitter.
Facebook also ended all support for Twitter cards, meaning Twitter users won’t be able to view Instagram photos from within their Twitter feeds.
Twitter stated in an earlier blog:
“Instagram has disabled photo integration with Twitter. As a result, photos are no longer appearing in Tweets or user photo galleries. While tweeting links to Instagram photos is still possible, you can no longer view the photos on Twitter, as was previously the case.”
Facebook wants its users to only use Instagram through their website, which is why they disabled Twitter functions.
So what do you think? Is it so bad that Instagram is being removed from Twitter?
