Ijaw leader warns against attempt to blackmail Tompolo

Tompolo-ijaw-leaderPopular Ijaw leader, Chief Beck Hitler, has warned politicians and mischief makers to desist from blaming Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo for their woes, following the outcome of last Monday’s gubernatorial primary of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State.

Hitler gave the warning yesterday in Warri, revealing that there were fresh attempts by some politicians in the state to smear the good reputation of the former militant leader over their failure to secure PDP governorship ticket for next year’s general elections.

Adding that those trying to blackmail Tompolo will certainly fail, he explained that no one should blame Tompolo who was neither a delegate nor partook in the exercise held at Event Centre, Asaba where Senator Ifeanyi Okowa was declared PDP standard bearer.

Hitler said that since the outcome of the gubernatorial primary, there have been malicious and misleading text messages and publications to undermine Tompolo.

He said: “In politics, it is either you lose or win, therefore, it is very wrong for anybody to attribute his/her failure in the PDP primary to Tompolo, who was not even a delegate in any of the primaries.

“What I know for sure is that Tompolo will continue to pursue the common interest of Ijaws in Delta State and if that should be reason why people are attempting to blackmail him, it is wrong.” -NationalMirror
