Fire on Tuesday razed the top part of NITEL building located along Marina, Lagos.
The fire started around 4.30 pm but the cause was still unknown as at press time. Similarly, the extent of damage could not be ascertained.
Daily Trust gathered that rescuers from Federal and State fire service as well as the police battled to put out the fire.
While the police provided enabling environment for the fire service men to battle the fire on hindered, a crowd consisting mostly of hoodlums, gathered at the foot of the building, the tallest in the area.
It was gathered that the fire was eventually put out around 6pm. There was no casualty recorded in the incident.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the South-West Region, Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the fire outbreak. -Daily Trust
