Presenting the items purchased for N55 million to the Borno state Government, a director in the Ministry of Youth Development, Alhaji Waziri Laminu, said it was their widow’s mite to show that the IDPs were never alone in their time of need and deprivation.
He said the items were purchased from fund raised from the federal public servants by a committee set up by the Head of Service to assist the IDPs.
Laminu disclosed: “The Committee purchased medicines worth N45 million and other materials worth N10 million which is being distributed this morning in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.”
He said the items is a token from them to cushion the suffering of the IDPs, noting that the items brought include medicines, soaps, foodstuffs, clothing materials, sporting materials, as well as bottle water. -ThisDay
