Fashola: FG has No Answer to Insecurity and Power Challenges

Lagos-State-Governor-Babatunde-Fashola-InecLagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, on Wednesday, said the Federal Government has no clue to addressing the many challenges confronting the nation.

The governor was speaking at the commissioning of the Cooperative Home Ownership Incentive Scheme (CHOIS City) at Agbowa, Ikosi-Ejirin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ikorodu and the first solar-powered Primary Health Care Centre, Epe.

Fashola noted that all the Federal Government told the citizens and foreign investors about the country especially on insecurity and rebasing of the country’s economy were false claims.

He said: “First, they were ignorant and later they lied to Nigerians. This indicates that they don’t know what to do on the challenges confront this country especially on insecurity.

“On insecurity facing the country, first they (Federal Government) lied that their political opponents were the cause. Later, they lied that it was people in their government. After that, they told Nigerians that those behind the insecurity in Nigeria were foreigners.

“Again, in their usual tactics, they came out to say that some saboteurs were behind the insecurity in the country.”

Buttressing the fact that the current administration was clueless, he said, “The Vice President, Namadi Sambo, made wrong and ignorant statement in Lagos. He said people were leaving Lagos due to high tax regime.

“I don’t think he (Sambo) moved around the state to see how the population of Lagos was increasing daily. Also, they said we were selling property to residents of Lagos at over N100 million. They are ignorant. And they have shown it publicly.”

He noted that the state government designed the Lagos HOMS to address shortage of housing in the state, which was increasing daily.

According to him, “the challenge before the state government was to provide affordable housing for residents of the state.”

Fashola also appealed to Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, (JUSUN) to end their strike action and return to work, saying, “I made this plea in the interest of the masses who rely on the judiciary for fair judgment.” -DailyIndependent
