Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has berated his Lagos State counterpart, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, over the latter’s comments that the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, Mr. Jimi Agabje, is too old to govern the state at 57.
Fayose said: “What can we say of Buhari at 72, an old horse, who Fashola’s party has put forward to govern Nigeria?
“Where will Buhari find the energy? This implies that the sponsors of Buhari want Nigeria to return to the days of Umaru Yar’Adua which later produced Jonathan.”
The Ekiti State governor said the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC),
General Muhammadu Buhari, at 72, is too old to be elected the president of the country.
In a statement, entitled: ‘Nigerians be warned’ and signed by him, the governor advised Nigerians to learn from the past and avoid repeating previous mistakes.
In the statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti yesterday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, the governor said the matter before Nigerians was choosing between life and death and urged them to choose life. He quoted from the book of Deuteronomy 30 verse 19: “Therefore, choose life that both thee and thy seed may live.”
Fayose charged Nigerians to vote wisely by returning President Goodluck Jonathan to office and advised that the North should wait till 2019, when it would be able to produce a credible, healthy, vibrant and energetic leader. -SunNews
