Eagles defeat Yemen in friendly match


Super-Eagles-YemenThe Super Eagles on Saturday evening, beat Yemen 2-0 in an international friendly match, which was played at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai.

Mfon Udoh and defender Azubuike Egwuekwe scored for Nigeria, as the African champions bounced back from a 1-0 loss to Cote d’Ivoire this week.

Daniel Amokachi’s men dominated their lesser fancied opponents from the blast of the whistle and were able to take the lead in the 25th minute through Mfon, who scored his first international goal since his debut strike against Ghana U-23 last year.

Egwuekwe ended the game as a contest in the 64th minute. The home-based Eagles are expected to return to the country on Sunday morning, as they continue to prepare for the 2016 Africa Nations Championship qualifiers.
