Buhari to Swear in Ministers on wednesday


Buhari-702x336ariAfter weeks of screening and confirmation of the ministerial nominees by the Senate, President Muhammadu Buhari will officially preside over the swearing in of the ministers -designate and inaugurate a new Federal Executive Council (FEC)on Wednesday.

Before the commencement of the inaugural session of the council, the ministers-designate will take their oaths of office in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa.

According to a statement by his special adviser on media and publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, the swearing-in ceremony will begin promptly at about 10am while the ministers-designate are expected to be seated in the Council Chambers at about 9:30am.

He added that each minister-designate could only be accompanied to the swearing-in ceremony by a maximum of two guests.

Also, following the confirmation of their nominations by the Senate, Buhari will today swear- in Prof. Mahmood Yakubu as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and five others as National Commissioners of INEC.

The swearing-in of Prof. Yakubu, Mrs. Amina Zakari, Mr. Solomon Soyebi, Prof. Antonia Taiye Okoosi-Simbine, Dr. Muhammed Mustafa Lecky and Alhaji Baba Shettima Arfo is scheduled for 11am in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa. -Leadership
