Imo State indigenes in the Diaspora, under the aegis of Bring Back Ohakim Global Group, BBOGG, have backed the aspiration of former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, to govern the state for a second term.
BBOGG said that it was backing Ohakim to return to the Douglas House as governor to complete his tenure for four years, saying that it arrived at the decision without emotion or affinity, “but with a thorough evaluation of all the variables that would impact the governance of Imo State.
It added: “Also we strongly feel that with Ohakim as Imo State governor, the citizens of the state will feel and see the dividends of democracy because of the humanoriented programs Ohakim will embark on to transform Imo State.
“Not only will Ikedi Ohakim reinstatement of 10,000 jobs in his first month of his administration, but he will also create good jobs in a lot of areas like clean environment, security, transportation, teachers salary, massive road construction projects, rural development projects, agriculture, health care sector, among other development areas.
“Ohakim will embark on the process of completing the abandoned projects by Goernor Rochas Okorocha that are costing the state billions of Naira.”
BBOGG also reiterated its resolve to work assiduously to help the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, elect Ohakim as governor of Imo State and reelect President Goodluck Jonathan as President, because of his Transformational Agenda.
It said without prejudice, Ohakim is the only candidate that can defeat Owelle Okorocha at the poll, adding that the former governor has sacrificed immensely for the PDP, saying that his loyalty is not in question. -NM
