2014 World Cup: FIFA Announces Golden Ball, Golden Glove, Best Young Player Award Nominees

fifa_golden_ball_nomineesFIFA has announced its shortlisted candidates for the Golden Ball, Golden Glove and the Best Young Player of the tournament. The nominee list for the Golden Ball award is dominated by the teams who will be playing the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final. A total of seven players from Argentina and Germany are nominated for this award.


From Argentina, captain Lionel Messi, Javier Macherano and Angel Di Maria have been nominated for the Golden Ball award. Germany have four players shortlisted for the award. Mats Hummels, Toni Kroos, Philip Lahm and Thomas Muller are the players shortlisted. Brazil’s Neymar, Colombia’s James Rodriguez and Netherlands’ Arjen Robben are the other three players on the list.


For the Golden Glove award, Germany’s Manuel Neuer, Argentina’s Sergio Romero and Costa Rica’s Keylor Navas are nominated.


Netherlands’ Memphis Depay and France’s Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane are nominated for the award of the Best Young Player of the tournament.


The winners will be announced after the World Cup Final.
